So far, competitors in the group are all in on two countries to win it all.
Brazil and Argentina were the two teams most often picked to reach the final among the competing brackets, with France and England rounding out the top four picks in the semi-finals. Tournament mates Spain and Germany were selected in fewer brackets than the United States a long shot to reach the semi-finals.
Brazil and Argentina are slotted to reach the finals in over 25% of the brackets, coming in at 28.2 and 27.7 percent, respectively—much, much higher than the United States ( 10.7%) and France (7.1%).
Let’s dive into how the numbers break down and check out some of our talent bracket selections below!
- Netherlands (Group A): 78.3%
- England (Group B): 72.1%
- Argentina (Group C): 84.0%
- France (Group D): 77.1%
- Germany (Group E): 58.6%
- Belgium (Group F): 69.2%
- Brazil (Group G): 95.9%
- Portugal (Group H): 67.0%
Not only are Argentina and Brazil favorites to reach the final in our brackets but they also have relatively weak groups. So it makes sense that the vast majority of bracket entries involve those two teams moving out of their respective groups and winning them outright.
The Netherlands also benefit from a low-profile group, which includes host country Qatar. Although they are not one of the favorites to reach the final or even the semi-finals, the Netherlands are the next most common choice to win their group at 78.3%. England and France round out the top five.
And don’t worry about the United States – the USMNT is the most common choice to finish second best in Group B (58.4%) and make the knockout stage.

The USMNT is also a popular team to make the round of 16, with 45% of competitors showing some love for the young team.

To no one’s surprise, Brazil continue to lead the way, with defending champions France also gaining some popularity.

- France: 28.2%

The parenthetical entries are nothing if not consistent. Brazil and Argentina are the two best teams who are still backed to reach the last four. But there is a surprise – the United States are there along with England as a popular choice to make the semi-finals.
In other words, rivals are rooting for the USMNT to make a deep run.
