Willie Nelson’s Historic Nashville Home for Sale for $2.5 Million

Willie Nelson’s former Nashville home is up for sale for $2.5 million, and pictures show a stunning rural getaway that’s a true piece of country music history.

Nelson’s 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom hand-built, custom country music cabinet sits on 150 rural acres in Goodlettsville, Tenn., half an hour outside of Nashville.

Called “The Hideaway,” the main living area revolves around a great room that includes a living room and kitchen, and there’s a loft bedroom with a stone fireplace. Exposed beams and a raised roof give the cabin a spacious feel.

The cabin caught fire when Nelson wasn’t inside in 1970, starting the famous story in which the Country Music Hall of Famer ran into the house to save his beloved guitar, Trigger, and a pound of marijuana. Nelson was living in the area when the events took place that inspired his song, “Shotgun Willie,” which served as the title track of his 16th studio album in 1973.

The land surrounding the cabin offers a breathtaking slice of unspoiled Tennessee and ensures maximum tranquility and privacy.

“Conveniently located just 30 minutes from downtown Nashville, 3108 Greer Road surrounds you with nature, elevated views and tranquility,” Ross Welch from Zeitlin Sotheby’s International Realty told Fox Business.

“As you approach, the property consists of approximately 40 acres of pasture in the front,” he shared. “And the mile-long trail that winds its way through another 110 acres of hardwoods back to a modest cabin once owned by one of country music’s most notorious outlaws, Willie Nelson,” he added.

“Truly, this is a unique property that offers proximity to a major city, peace of mind full of nature, and offers history that many places cannot match.”

According to online property sites, the asking price drops to $15,314 per month.

Welch and Matt Lawson hold the Sotheby’s list. The place has only two owners: Nelson, and the people he sold it to.
